Summatives 2009
Summative
Calendar by Day/Month
Summative Calendar by Course
To Students:
Your Department Heads and Administration have been busy
drafting a calendar of course summatives which will allow
you to plan and manage your workload from now until the
end of the year. We have attempted to limit the number of
summatives to two each day for all students. If you foresee
a date when you have more than two, please speak with the
teachers involved well in advance to see
if one of the summative dates can be renegotiated.
What do you do if you have a conflict with a summative
date?
* You must inform your teacher well in advance of a potential
conflict with a summative date. This applies to field trips,
sporting competitions, family commitments, etc. If warranted
and feasible, the teacher will renegotiate a date with you.
If not, it should be referred to the administration.
What do you do if you are ill on the day of a scheduled
summative?
* If you are absent for a scheduled summative, your parent/guardian
must call the school in the morning to justify the absence.
Upon return, a doctor's note must be presented. The administration,
in consultation with the teacher and department head, will
choose the appropriate course of action from the following
choices:
a) an alternate date to complete the summative will be established
b) an alternate summative task will be assigned
c) the student will not complete the summative; instead,
the final exam will be worth 30%
Should you have any questions, please see Mrs. Millett.
